As a company we believe that individuals not only have influence over their personal well-being and immediate living environment, but also the well-being of others and the world we share. As a corporate citizen of the South African business community we recognize and have a shared concern for problems related to issues of health, safety, security, and human rights. Our goal is to be a good corporate citizen wherever we operate, as a responsible and contributing member of society. We take part in projects focused on education and aimed at helping people, regardless of age, gender, religion or race, to develop skills that will enable them to create their own place in the world. Living in Africa, we are convinced that free software has a key role to play in assisting people to bridge the digital divide, giving them access to information, the opportunity to expand their context and skill themselves in a way that will make a difference, not only to their own lives, but those of their families, communities, the country, the continent and the world as a whole. InWords is an active contributor to free and open source projects. Assisting by developing documentation and training materials for a number of projects. Through these gifts, InWords hopes to be able to make some difference for humanity. In the field of technical communications, InWords is the founder and sponsor of the South African Society for Technical Communication (SA-STC). The SA-STC is a group of individuals who share a common interest in technical communication. Run as a community project, the purpose of the SA-STC is to gather and grow that interest under a common banner. The SA-STC aims to promote the awareness and recognition of technical communication as a professional activity in Southern Africa and to improve the performance of that activity within the region. Through our participation and support of these initiatives we hope to empower and bring opportunity to people that will be able to play a productive role in our communities and economy as a whole.
